Easy Ryder
by Fiona Sprott
directed by Dan Walls
musical direction by Dawn Yates with Michelle 'Baggas' Baginski

The path to true love is never smooth and no one has laced up the filthy hiking boots of romance more oft than Easy Ryder -  modern woman and love-deprived mother never-to-be.

Fill your waterskin with gin and join the hilarious journey to trace Easy's tragic life as she travels that rocky road of love to its sick yet strangely moving destination.

Cathy Kohlen is 'Easy' in this macabre music-rich monologue, and is ably aided and abetted by musical sherpas Dawn Yates and Michelle 'baggas' Baginski, all of whom are under the keen eye of director Dan Walls.

The Act-O-Matic 3000 (The Laramie Project, The Return, fourplay), which once felt the love of a Green Room Award for best independent production, is proud to present the Victorian premiere of Fiona Sprott's (Often I Find that I am Naked and Partly It's About Love... Partly It's About Massacre) cabaret of cruelty.

Fiona's latest monologue-cabaret show, Easy Ryder was premiered as part of the program of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival 2005. This continues a tradition of darkly comic approaches to issues of female sexuality and gender roles, specifically as it relates to romantic myths and fictions. Themes of violence, desire, grief, unstable emotions, chaos, and life on the 'fringe' of Normal attract her. Fiona is enrolled in the Master of Creative Arts, at University of Technology, Sydney.
