Marginalised under-class, or brutal thugs? You decide.

Set in Perth on a sweltering late-night trip to Freo, two blokes from the wrong side of the tracks - Steve and Trev - take charge of the train and draw the passengers into their violent lives.

Lisa, a beautiful young law student, captures their attention and things escalate uncontrollably as the train nears its terminus. Not all the passengers are there for the ride home - so who is manipulating who, and who will survive the psychological power play?

By turns hilarious and shocking, The Return has taken audiences on its nightmarish trip in the UK, Canada, New Zealand and throughout Australia, and now Melbourne.  The Act-O-Matic 3000 is proud to present the Victorian premiere of Reg Cribb’s Patrick White Award winner, The Return.
