The actors perform the play well and honestly, realising the difficulty and pain that lies beneath...a rewarding production of a fine play, and well worth the price of a ticket. - Theatrenotes
Director David Ryding, working with a bang-up cast, brings the play's quiet charms to the stage with good humour, visual intelligence and subtlety...The performances are routinely excellent...Bodie's writing truly shines...combined with fine direction and excellent performances, it makes for one of the best productions of the year thus far -Australian Stage Online
Alice is in a relationship with Tom. Tom works with Natasha. Natasha wants Tom. Alice works with Jack. Jack is drawn to Alice. Perhaps too much. New relationships form and what's old is new again.
A warmly human and heart-rending exploration of a love triangle with one person too many, Jane Bodie's unique story of lust, infidelity and stalking chronicles the love lives of four Melburnians. Jane's play Ride received outstanding reviews during 2002 International Edinburgh Festival after sell-out seasons at Belvoir Theatre in Sydney and in Dublin the same year. It has since been picked up for a season on Broadway. She was nominated for the Patrick White Playwrights' Award in 2002 and won a Green Room Award for Outstanding Writing on the Melbourne Fringe in 2003 for her series of mono
logues, Still. She is currently working at the Royal Court Theatre with the Young Writers Programme, and her striking play A Single Act enjoyed a successful season at MTC last year. Bodie's dialogue is intelligent, often witty and cleverly observed The Age (A Single Act)
