Autobahn on the Air

Tune into PBS FM 106.7 to hear Autobahn director David Ryding and cast-member Brett Whittingham chat up a storm with Fiona Gruber on The Opening -  a very excellent arts show here in Melbourne. Learn more about Autobahn and what neat things are on around town.

End of Civilization Ends Tonight!

It's our final show and your last chance to see this powerful piece of theatre - a blackly comic tale of bombs, prostitutes and dectectives - like an episode of Law and Order gone very, very wrong.
Book now or tix at the door!

Tune into Act-O-Matic 3000 on PBS FM

Hi! Our first week is over, which means there are only two more to go.  Wednesday to Sunday (Sunday at 5pm) this week, Tuesday (Tight Tuesday! $12 tix) to Saturday the week after. Then that's it for the Act-O-Matic 3000 production-wise until 2007. Catch us now!
The first week has been wonderful creatively as the characters have continued to evolve and audiences have left impressed with uncoerced promises to get their family, friends and co-workers along.

But also worth mentioning is that Director Vicki Smith and cast member and Act-O-Matic 3000 co-founder Dan Walls will be interviewed tonight on Fiona Gruber's excellent arts program The Opening, on PBS FM.
Tune in or do that streaming internet radio thing and have a listen! www.pbsfm.org.au

The End of Civilization has begun

After preview and opening night this week, we're onto the last show for this week - only two more to go! Audience feedback has been fantastic with many people enjoying the powerful dramatic journey they undertook in this anonymous Nowhere-ville motel room featured in The End of Civilization.
With so much going on around town at the moment, we're happy to see many seasoned Act-O-Matic 3000 audience members turning up with thrilled first-timers.

Strong word of mouth is spreading already and we urge you to book early in the season to avoid missing out in our final performances!

Act-O-Matic on MySpace!

Yes, we've taken the leap and are mixing it with the kids on MySpace. Even though reports suggest that the average user is over 35 - which makes the Act-O-Matic 3000 (as a 33 year old male who is Cancerian and on the site for 'networking') as an entity of an age to still be closer to the age group of the kids, than not. Well, this is going nowhere fast, but please come by and be our 'friend' on MySpace. We promise not to get weird about it and start asking to meet you in real life or anything.

Now. Back to business.

The End of Civilization opens in a week! That's right. A week and a day really. But who's counting? The bookings are coming in and rehearsals show us that we've got another solid piece of quality theatre to ship out. Rather like a sturdy piece of Tasmanian Oak. But not at all wooden. No no. It's a great cast of new faces to the Act-O-Matic 3000 stable, along with some faces that have popped up in some of our shows from time to time.
It's a cleverly plotted story with 1st class acting which will have you thinking after you leave the theatre - and before you leave, why not have a quick drink with us after the show? Alcoholic and non beverages are available!

The End of Civilization

Hi! Just a quick note to say that the next Act-O-Matic 3000 production - The End of Civilization, by award winning playwright George F. Walker - begins Oct 18 at Cromwell Road Theatre. Details are up on this site (Current Production page) and there's a sweet offer for all those of you book and pay online before October 4 - a free beverage!
